Plantation shutters, made to measure and installed across Sydney

A plantation shutter is a hinged timber or PVC panel of tilting louvres that sits in a frame fitted to your window or door. Tilt the blades for light, privacy or a breeze; swing the panels open for the full view. Unlike blinds there are no cords, no fabric to fade and nothing to replace, which is why shutters add value to a home.

PVC or timber?

  • PVC shutters – Australian made, solid PVC with an aluminium core, Pure White, 10-year warranty. The right choice for bathrooms, laundries, kitchens and anywhere steam or splashes reach, and the fastest to make.
  • Basswood shutters – the classic painted or stained timber shutter in 10 colours and 5 stains, three blade sizes and the widest range of frames and shaped panels.
  • White teak shutters – FSC-certified hardwood about 30% lighter than basswood, in 10 painted colours; ideal for wide bifold and sliding layouts where panel weight matters.

Blade sizes and layouts

Timber shutters come with 63mm, 89mm or 114mm elliptical louvres; PVC shutters use an 89mm blade. Smaller blades suit small windows and a traditional look, larger blades give a clearer view when open and fewer lines on the window. Panels can be hinged, double hinged, bifold across a wide opening, sliding on a track across a door, or set hinge-free in a U channel. We also do shaped and arched windows, bay and corner windows and French doors.

What is included in our quote

Measure, frames, panels, hinges and tilt rods, manufacture, delivery and installation by our own installers. We recommend the frame type and mount window by window: inside the reveal for a clean look, or face-fixed over the architrave where the reveal is shallow.

How much do plantation shutters cost in Sydney?

Shutters are priced per square metre by material, blade size and configuration, with surcharges for shaped panels, bifold and sliding tracks. We quote after measuring. The measure and quote is free and there is no obligation, and PVC is usually the most economical option.

How long do plantation shutters take?

Australian-made PVC shutters are typically manufactured within about eight working days of approval. Basswood and white teak shutters are made to order and typically take seven to eight weeks. We confirm the timeframe with your quote and book the installation day with you.

PVC or timber shutters: which should I choose?

PVC for bathrooms, laundries, kitchens and any wet or humid area, and when you want the fastest turnaround. Timber (basswood or white teak) when you want a stained finish, a choice of blade sizes, shaped panels or a lighter panel for very wide openings.

Can I have plantation shutters in a bathroom?

Yes. Our PVC shutters have a solid PVC blade around an aluminium core, so they do not swell, warp or peel with steam, and they wipe clean.

Which blade size should I choose?

89mm is the most popular all-rounder. 63mm suits small windows and a traditional cottage look; 114mm gives the clearest view through the open blades on large windows and doors.

Do you install shutters or just supply them?

We supply and install. Our own team measures, fits and adjusts every shutter. We do not sell shutters for DIY installation.

What colours are available?

PVC shutters come in Pure White. Timber shutters come in 10 painted colours, and basswood also in 5 timber stains, with hinges colour matched at the factory. We bring the samples to your home when we measure.

Is there a warranty?

PVC shutters carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. Timber shutters are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we confirm with your quote.
