Can people see through sheer curtains at night?

Yes, when the lights are on inside. Add a blockout blind or a blockout curtain on a double track for bedrooms and living rooms facing the street.

What heading style is best for sheers?

S-fold (wave) on a ceiling-fixed track gives the modern, continuous ripple most people want. Pencil pleat suits rods and traditional rooms.

Are sheer curtains washable?

Most polyester sheers can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and rehung damp. Linen-look sheers should be dry cleaned.

Do sheers reduce heat?

A little. For heat control on a west-facing door pair the sheer with a sunscreen or blockout blind.

How far should sheers extend past the window?

15–20 cm each side so the stacked curtain clears the glass when open. We allow for this when we measure.
