FAQs

Do all curtains need lining?

Sheers are unlined by design. Most other curtains look and last better lined, especially on sunny windows.

What is the difference between thermal and blockout lining?

Thermal lining has a light coating that insulates and dims the room; blockout lining has a heavier coating that stops light entirely.

Can lining be added to existing curtains?

Often yes, if the heading can be unpicked. Bring them into the showroom or send a photo and we will advise.

Does lining change how the curtain hangs?

It adds weight and body, so pleats hold their shape and the curtain hangs straighter.

Is lining visible from inside?

No – it sits behind the face fabric. You choose the lining colour, usually white or ivory, so the house looks uniform from the street.
