Luxx Shades: the sheer vertical blind for sliding doors

A Luxx Shade hangs soft fabric vanes from a slim headrail. Turn the wand and the vanes angle for filtered light, a clear view or full privacy; slide them and they stack to the side like a curtain. Because every vane hangs on its own, you can step between them to the deck or garden without opening the whole blind, which is why they are such a popular replacement for vertical blinds and sheer curtains on sliding doors.

Choosing a range

  • Essential – the core Luxx range: eight neutrals in a lightly textured plain, 34cm or 41cm vanes.
  • Plain, Honey, Leaf and Arch – the four Luxx patterns, each in the same six colours so they can be mixed on one blind.
  • Allusion Horizon and Allusion Natural – Louvolite's 41cm vanes in linear and linen-look textures.
  • Allusion Shadow – the widest 43cm vane with a soft shadow stripe, for large openings.

Where Luxx Shades work best

Sliding and stacker doors to a deck or alfresco area, wide living-room windows, and any opening where you want the softness of a sheer curtain with the control of a blind. The vanes stack left, right, split or centre to suit the way the door opens, and the headrail comes in white, black, grey or white birch to match the frame. The fabric is UPF 50+, so it also protects floors and furniture from fading.

What is included in our quote

Measure, headrail, vanes, wand, brackets and installation by our own installers. We fit inside the reveal where there is depth, or face-fix above the architrave to clear door handles and give the vanes room to turn.

Shades, blinds, curtains and floors from one appointment

We measure blinds, curtains, shutters, carpet and hard flooring on the same visit, so a whole renovation can be quoted at once. See our Window Coverings in Sydney page for the full range.

Every Luxx Shade on this site is made to measure and installed by our own team across Greater Sydney and regional NSW. Add the ranges you like to a quote, or call Castle Hill on (02) 9894 8805 or Liverpool on (02) 9602 7228, and we will bring the fabric samples to your home, measure every window and quote the whole job with no obligation.

FAQs

What are Luxx Shades?

Wand-operated vertical sheer blinds. Individual fabric vanes hang from a headrail, turn for light control and privacy, and slide aside like a curtain. They are often called sheer vertical blinds or curtain blinds.

How much do Luxx Shades cost in Sydney?

They are priced by the width and drop of the opening and the fabric range, so we quote after measuring. The measure and quote is free and there is no obligation.

Are Luxx Shades better than vertical blinds for sliding doors?

For most living areas, yes. The vanes are soft fabric rather than rigid slats, they are quieter, they stack more compactly, and you can walk between them without opening the blind. They typically cost more than a basic vertical blind, and we quote after measuring.

Do Luxx Shades block out light?

No. They are sheer and light filtering. For a bedroom that needs darkness, pair them with a blockout roller blind or choose blockout curtains instead.

Which vane width should I choose?

41cm is the standard and suits most doors and windows. 34cm (Luxx ranges) gives more, narrower vanes for a finer look on smaller windows; 43cm (Allusion Shadow) suits very large openings.

Can I mix colours or patterns on one blind?

Yes, any colours or patterns within the same vane width can be mixed on the one headrail.

How do I clean them?

Dust with a soft brush. For marks, remove the vane and hand wash lightly in lukewarm water with a neutral detergent, drip dry and do not iron. Single replacement vanes are available if one is damaged.

Are they child safe?

Yes. Luxx Shades are wand operated with no looped cords or chains.

Is there a warranty?

A two-year manufacturer warranty covers the product, excluding misuse, improper handling and unauthorised modifications. We confirm the terms with your quote.
