Where extra large rugs work

• Open-plan living – 240 x 330 or 280 x 380 cm with all sofa and chair legs on the rug.
• Modular and L-shaped sofas – 300 x 400 cm so the rug extends beyond the chaise.
• Eight to ten-seat dining tables – 240 x 330 cm for a 240 cm table, 280 x 380 cm for a 300 cm table.

Shipping extra large rugs

Rugs over 300 cm long are shipped as a long roll by freight courier. Delivery is free on orders over $99 to metro and most regional addresses; remote postcodes are quoted at checkout. Allow a few days longer than a standard parcel.

How to measure for a rug

Measure the floor area you want the rug to cover, then check the furniture: in a living room the rug should sit under at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs; in a dining room it should extend 60–70 cm beyond the table on every side so chairs stay on it when pulled out; in a bedroom it should run under the bed and out 60–90 cm on each side and at the foot. Leave 30–45 cm of bare floor between the rug and the walls. Our rug size guide has diagrams for every room.

Rug sizes are listed length by width in centimetres (some ranges list width first). Hand-made rugs can vary by a few centimetres from the stated size, and fringes are not included. Each product page lists every available size.
