Collection: Medium Rugs

Where medium rugs work

• Apartment living rooms – 160 x 230 cm under the coffee table with the front legs of a two or three-seater on the rug.
• Queen bedrooms – 160 x 230 cm across the foot of the bed, or 180 x 270 cm running under the bed.
• Small dining rooms – a 200 cm round under a four-seat round table.
• Home offices and studies – anchors a desk and chair without filling the room.

If your sofa is longer than 200 cm or your room is open-plan, step up to our large rugs.

How to measure for a rug

Measure the floor area you want the rug to cover, then check the furniture: in a living room the rug should sit under at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs; in a dining room it should extend 60–70 cm beyond the table on every side so chairs stay on it when pulled out; in a bedroom it should run under the bed and out 60–90 cm on each side and at the foot. Leave 30–45 cm of bare floor between the rug and the walls. Our rug size guide has diagrams for every room.

Sizes are approximate

Rug sizes are listed length by width in centimetres (some ranges list width first). Hand-made rugs can vary by a few centimetres from the stated size, and fringes are not included. Each product page lists every available size.

Every rug ships Australia-wide with free shipping on rug orders over $99 (remote postcodes excluded) and 30-day returns on unused rugs in original packaging. Not sure on size? Read our rug size guide or call Castle Hill on (02) 9894 8805 or Liverpool on (02) 9602 7228.
